Walking

It is the CU Boulder campus policy to place walking as the highest priority for reconstruction and campus planning:

'Pedestrian travel will continue to be encouraged as the primary mode of travel on all Boulder campuses.'

— University of Colorado Campus Master Plan - 2001

The City of Boulder also values walking as its highest priority:

'Pedestrian travel is the real measure of accessibility of the transportation system. Walking is the original mode of travel and is essential to all other modes.'

— 1996 City of Boulder Transportation Master Plan
