CU Buffs Live Green: Sign the pledge to reduce your carbon footprint and CU will pitch in $5 to reduce its carbon footprint

CU Buffs: How will you Fight Climate Change? Pledge to take action. Each of the actions below will reduce your carbon footprint and impact climate change. Choose 3 actions that you are not currently doing, or that you would like to do better. These actions should be something that fit your lifestyle that you could change.

Find a new way. Bike and bus for errands, use the car less.

Don’t trash it. Always recycle paper, glass, metal, and plastic.

Reduce waste. Use reusable mugs, bags, water bottles, and so on.

Fine Tune. Turn down the temp a little on your thermostat and lower the setting on your fridge

Make change with your dollar. Buy recycled products, electronics with the Energy Star™ label, and locally-grown or locally-made products.

Kill your Energy Vampires. Set office equipment (fax, copiers, printers) to power management mode per owner's manual and unplug electronics chargers when they’re done charging.

Sleep is Good. Set computers and monitors to go to sleep instead of using a screen saver. This drops energy use up to 75%!

Keep trees in the forest. Print double-sided, stop junk mail, read news online.

Slow the Flow. Turn off the water when shaving or brushing your teeth.

Get it fixed. Report water and energy waste on campus to energyconservationhotline@fm.colorado.edu
