University of Colorado Green Office Certification

As University of Colorado Boulder faculty and staff, we have a prominent role in both the local and global community. It is our duty to be role models and stewards of our environment, and this is why the CU Environmental Center is pleased to offer The CU Green Office Certification Program. This opportunity will enable all parts of campus to actively participate in educating and practicing sustainability.

Completion of the Green Office Certification would include:

• Appointing an Eco-Leader

• Completion of a preliminary office checklist (download pdf)

• Four 30-minute training programs on transportation, energy and water conservation, environmentally responsible purchasing, and recycling and waste reduction at department meetings. Liaisons will need to help schedule these over the course of one year. Trainings will be conducted by Environmental Center program staff.

• Successful implementation of Green Office Assessment recommendations

Certified offices and departments receive recognition on an annual press release and at the annual campus environmental awards ceremony. A certificate and logo will be available for posting on any appropriate printed materials and website.
