Enter the Baker Libby Power Showdown Competition

You can have a chance at a $600 bike, a cool solar charger or an iPod Nano just for turning off your lights and getting people on your floor to do the same.

To enter the Power Showdown competition all you have to do is pledge to do three of the Power Down actions below, then tell us who you are. Click on the actions you think are mostly likely to do. We really want to know what people think they'll be doing most, so please be honest. To see the best ways to save the most energy, go to the Power Down in your Room.

To help my Hall win and get a chance at cool prizes I pledge to...
Plug my energy vampires into a power strip and shut them off at the end of the day or before I go to class.
Watch TV with a neighbor who's watching the same show.
Use energy-saving light bulbs called CFLs in lights I brought myself.
Put my computer, monitor and/or laptop to automatically go to sleep and turn them completely off at the end of the day.
Not use screen savers on my computer. They don't save energy.
Unplug chargers from the wall when I disconnect my electronics from them. Or I'll plug them into my power strip to kill this vampire at night.
Lower my refrigerator setting to 2 or 3; or to 3 or 4 if I've got frozen stuff in them. Or I'll unplug it altogether if I don't use it.
Manually turn off my printer, external hard drive or other computer peripherals or plug them in to a power strip to kill this vampire at night.
Turn off lights whenever I leave a room for more than 10 minutes.
Not turn on lights when there's good daylight to use.
