modeling, and a Ph.D. in natural resource economics from Colorado State
University. Pete spent the early 1990s working for The Wilderness Society
in Atlanta, Georgia, followed by several years as a faculty member at
the University of Denver. In March 1998 Pete rejoined The Wilderness Society
in Denver to be the society’s lead economist on western public land
issues. Pete has published articles on public land recreation, wilderness
economics, and national forest planning, and has testified before Congress
on the energy potential of America’s wildlands.
