Pete Morton earned his Masters in Forestry, with an emphasis on quantitative modeling, and a Ph.D. in natural resource economics from Colorado State University. Pete spent the early 1990s working for The Wilderness Society in Atlanta, Georgia, followed by several years as a faculty member at the University of Denver. In March 1998 Pete rejoined The Wilderness Society in Denver to be the societys lead economist on western public land issues. Pete has published articles on public land recreation, wilderness economics, and national forest planning, and has testified before Congress on the energy potential of Americas wildlands.
