Congressman Mark Udall was first sworn in as a member of Congress on January 6, 1999, representing Colorados second congressional district in the U.S. House of Representatives. A member of the House Resources Committee, Udall sits on the Subcommittee on National Parks, Recreation and Public Lands and the Subcommittee on Forests and Forests Health. Udall is also a member of the House Science Committee, and serves on the Subcommittee on Environment, Technology and Standards and the Subcommittee on Space and Aeronautics. Udalls colleagues have elected him to serve as Democratic Deputy Regional Whip for the western United States and as the Democratic freshman class vice president in 2000. He is also co-chair of the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Caucus.
Mark made his entrance into politics in 1997 as a representative in the Colorado State House. During his tenure in public service, Mark has championed environmental, education and health care issues. Mark is also an avid mountain climber and has climbed or attempted some of the worlds most challenging peaks, including Mt. Everest.
