Energy Conservation : Buff Energy Star Award

The Buff Energy Star Award is a new program that rewards campus buildings for performing exceptionally well in energy efficiency and energy reduction. The Award seeks to showcase, recognize and reward buildings and building occupants that help the environment and the University budget by reducing energy.

There are four criteria that every building must meet in order to be nominated.

  • The building must reduce its energy use by at least 5 % per year.
  • There must be visible energy awareness posters and educational materials through the building.
  • The building must complete an energy audit with the campus Energy Conservation Officer.
  • The building must take action on the findings of the audit.
  • The 2004 Buff Energy Star Awardees are:

    • University Memorial Center
    • Regent Adminstartion Center
    • Muenzinger
    • Fiske Planetarium
    • Ketchum
