Kill your vampires.

Many electronics continue to suck energy even when we think they’re “off.” These are called “energy vampires” or “phantom loads”. Some use it to power clocks and remote-ready sensors, and others, like chargers, are just always drawing power when plugged in. All the vampires in all the rooms can really add up to big electricity usage.

Power strips.

Turn off all your vampires at once by flipping the switch off. Put your power strip in a place where it is accessible to many – if not all – your vampires so you can turn them all on and off at once, like in the morning, while you’re out for the day and before you go to bed.

Did you know?

that 80% of our electricity in Colorado comes from burning coal? Coal is a fossil fuel and burning it releases CO2 emissions into the atmosphere which is causing climate change, also called global warming. So any time we can reduce the electricity we use we are putting less CO2 into the air and reducing our impact on climate change.

Turn Off Climate Change!
